Classy Chasy's Art Studio Price Listings:


Children’s Intro to pottery:

The student will work with “Bisque” prepared pottery. This is pottery that has already been thrown, formed, and fired but not glazed.
The student will get to pick out their own pre-fired pottery and with assistance and instruction of the teacher he or she, will decorate and glaze the piece.

Note: these classes are offered to the younger students and those who do not want to learn how to make and build pottery by hand. This is a good way to introduce child to pottery. These classes are often short and are very easy. Parents are encouraged to take class with child.

→All finished & glazed pottery will be fired by the instructor!!
*Approximately 1 1/2 hour long class
*Cost for Child: $ 20.00 per child (one time class fee)
*Cost for Adult: $ 25.00 per person


Adult’s Intro to pottery:


In the adult class, hand building will be introduced. The student is not required to do any of this in order to decorate their Pre-fired pottery. However, it is recommended for students who might be interested in taking the Beginner classes.

!!Note !!
This is a good way to ease yourself, or young adults into pottery. These classes are often slightly longer than an hour and are easy for first timers!

*Approximately 2 hour long
* Cost for Adult classes: $25.00 per person (one time class fee)

Beginner Pottery:
No book is required for this class. It is all lecture/hands on!

Students will learn hand building and get familiar with working with the clay body. The student will be taught the basic skills of working with clay and introduced to some of the history of clay. There will be example pieces to look at and replicate. The instructor will glaze and/or, supervise all glazing of finished pottery, as well as, the firing of all finished pieces.
!!Note !!
This class is for the student who could be, or, are interested in advancing to Intermediate classes and then working on there own in Advanced classes.
The art of glazing, firing, and mastering the pottery wheel is for Intermediate/ Advanced classes only!

*Classes are 1 hour long. ( plus the time it takes to finish example piece)
* Cost for Beginner classes $25.00 per class session.



Intermediate Pottery:
Hands in Clay, book is required for this class!

This class consists of learning the history of pottery, art of forming, hand building, wheel throwing, and how to glaze and firing pottery. The student will be critiqued on projects given by instructor. The student will have light class paper work and reading.

Materials are required in this class:

The student will need Hands in Clay, book for this class. This book can be purchased or rented by the student form the instructor. It can be found on the internet or in some used bookstores.



The student will need a basic clay tools kit.
Clay Tool Set contains:
Modeling Tool
Ribbon Tool
Loop Tool
Potters Rib
Sponge
Wire Clay Cutter
Steel Scraper
Needle Tool
Canvas Apron

It can be purchased from the instructor, Hobby Lobby, or the internet
EBay….. keyword “Pottery Tools.”

* Paint brushes for glaze detail,

All synthetic hair bushes: 1 flat brush 1 round brush 1 liner brush

These brushes can be found at Hobby Lobby or can be purchased from the instructor.

*Classes are 1 hour long. (times may very with the students ability to complete projects and class work.)

*Cost for Intermediate classes $25.00 per class session.

Advanced pottery:

Students in this class have taken Beginner and Intermediate pottery and are skilled in pottery making. They have mastered the art of hand building, wheel work, glazing and firing. These students should have all the necessary materials to work with.
ü These students are simply using my facility to continue their love of pottery, all the fascinating forms, and the excitement of experimenting with all the glazes.
ü These students on occasion may want my opinion on their work or need my assistance.
ü This is an on your own time class!

**Cost for Advanced pottery is based on:
o Use of studio
o Use of materials provided by Classy Chasy’s.
o Use of Kiln
o Cost will be determined on a case by case basis.
